New Trimester for Strategic Servants: Kids Ministry

Serve the Lord by serving children! RP Kids’ Ministry is looking for more Strategic Servants to serve in our kids’ ministry rooms during both services for the next four months. We make it easy for you by providing all of the curriculum and crafts and structure. But it’s a high and holy calling—we’re asking you to love the least of these in Jesus’s name! We’d love to see every RP attendee serve here, at least once a month, for at least one trimester a year.

There are opportunities in the following rooms for children ages birth through 5th grade:

  • Babies

  • Explorers (toddlers and children ready for playtime)

  • Ready-to-Learn

Here’s the process if you’re interested.

  1. Email our Kids’ Min Coordinators to let us know you’re interested.

  2. We’ll send you a link to complete a Background Check.

  3. You’ll read through our Kids’ Ministry Guidelines and Expectations, ask questions, and sign-off that you are in agreement.

  4. We’ll get you on the calendar! Most people serve once or twice a month for a four-month commitment.

  5. Our Kids’ Min Scheduler will remind you each week that you’re on the schedule to serve.

Evening Women's Bible Study

All women are welcome to join us every other Monday evening as we study the Sermon on the Mount through Jen Wilkin’s workbook and DVD series. The Lifeway website says, “What does it mean to be a citizen of the kingdom of Heaven? Matthew’s gospel opens with three chapters containing Jesus’ longest recorded message – a sermon given to His disciples early in His ministry to articulate what the life of a Christ-follower would look like. It was a message intended to turn upside down every expectation His closest followers might have.”

Summer Daytime Women's Bible Study
May

to Jul 12

Summer Daytime Women's Bible Study

Join us this summer for a nine-week Bible study by Nancy Guthrie - Even Better than Eden: Nine Ways the Bible's Story Changes Everything about Your Story.

Guthrie’s website says, “Sometimes the Bible’s story is summarized as creation, fall, redemption, restoration. But the future is not headed toward merely a restoration of Eden’s goodness. From the very beginning, the Bible’s story has always been headed toward consummation, toward glory. This book traces nine themes that run from Genesis to Revelation in the Bible. Each reveals how God’s plan for the new creation will be far more glorious than the original.”

Please purchase your own copy of the book (from Amazon and wherever books are sold), as well as the Personal Study Guide (download digitally from Nancy Guthrie’s website) and bring both the book and study guide with you to our first session on Friday, May 17 at 9am.

We’ll meet at Jen Oshman’s house, just five minutes east of Parker Road and Main Street. Contact Jen for the address.

Childcare will be available, but must be paid for on the first Friday of the study. If you are planning on using the childcare at all, please pay $35 on the first day for one child and an additional $15 per extra child. Nursing babies are welcome in the study, but please do utilize childcare for toddlers and above. If the childcare fee is a barrier to your participation, please do not hesitate to tell Jen or Sandie—RP is able to scholarship those who have a need! The church budget cannot accommodate free childcare for everyone, but is happy to provide help where needed.

Friday Prayer and Fasting
Feb

to Feb 9

Friday Prayer and Fasting

As a faith-family, we believe the Lord is calling us into a season of fasting and prayer for our church and the planting of Redemption Castle Rock in the Fall of 2019.

We would invite you to consider taking some intentional time to fast and pray as we beg the Lord to go before us in this endeavor. Perhaps you will fast through breakfast, lunch, or dinner as you devote that time to prayer. Others might feel called to fast from the internet, television, or social media on Fridays. However the Lord leads you, we’re grateful for your partnership in the gospel (Philippians 1:5).

Here are some specific prayer requests for February:

  • Prayer Update: The Bowermans have moved to Castle Rock. They are rejoicing in the Lord’s provision of a great living/hosting space.

  • Pray for the Lord to continue to raise up local leadership before the launch of the church plant.

  • Pray for the Lord to begin to bring new people to the church planting team.

  • Pray for the Bowermans and the church planting team to develop good relationships among the people of Castle Rock.

  • For both opportunities and boldness for the team to share the gospel with people in Castle Rock.

Winter Women's Bible Study

Winter Women's Bible Study

There are no minor characters in the story of God.

Beginning with Genesis 12, walk alongside the fathers of our faith—Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph—to discern Jesus in the stories of His people.

Over 10 sessions, discover how God orchestrates everything for His glory and the good of His people, and see how the God of creation and covenant is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

10 weeks: January 11 - March 15.

9am -11am at Jen Oshman’s house near Main Street and Jordan Road.

Childcare is available.

The cost is $25/woman and books can be purchased from Jen Oshman. This fee covers both the book and a portion of the cost of childcare. The actual cost of childcare is $50 per child for the entire 10-week study, so if you’re able to pay more than $25 to help offset that cost, it would be very helpful! Whether you have a child in childcare or not, we all benefit from this service, so please consider helping out if you’re able. Lastly, if $25 is prohibitive to anyone, don’t hesitate to let Jen Oshman or Sandie Dugas know. The fee can be reduced as needed so that any woman can participate!

Hope House Stockings

Hope House Stockings

Grab a Hope House Stocking at church this Sunday, fill it, and bring it back by Sunday, December 9th. Hope House exists to provide a home for children who are emotionally impaired, developmentally disabled, and/or come from disrupted adoptions or dysfunctional families. Several RP families travel to Hope House every year to minister to the children and staff there. They have developed long-term and meaningful relationships with them and they are giving the rest of our church body a chance to bless the kids there this Christmas.

Each stocking comes with a child’s name and age, and their Christmas wish list. This stocking will likely be the only gift(s) they receive this holiday. Please spend about $50 per stocking, pray for the child, and bring the stocking back to RP by 12/9.

If you have any questions please ask Alivia Russo, Kristin Meisinger (303-856-8583), or Zandy Wennerstrom (303-547-2552).
