REDEMPTION INSTITUTE

What is the Redemption Institute?

Redemption Institute exists for the Glory of God and joy of all peoples as we seek to allow our vision of the good life to come from the drama of redemption (Biblical Theology), the diet of doctrine (Systematic Theology), and soul-shaping habits (Spiritual Formation). Ultimately, “The true end of theology is not a systematic textbook but grown-up children of God” (Vanhoozer). That is our vision; mature disciples.

What is the goal of the Redemption Institute?

The goal of Redemption Institute is to make disciples. It is not enough that people are simply coming to church on Sundays. The goal is to form little Christs as CS Lewis has said, “The Church exists for nothing else but to draw men into Christ, to make them little Christs. If they are not doing that, all the cathedrals, clergy, missions, sermons, even the Bible itself, are simply a waste of time. God became Man for no other purpose.” Theology can be a scary word for many people in the church but each and every one of us are theologians, and our understanding of theology/doctrine/formation has the potential to grow us up as followers of Christ. Redemption Institute's goal is making disciples and this will happen as we re-envision the "good life" through: Redemption Institute Courses, Men's and Women's Ministry, and Theology on the Ground.

Redemption Institute Courses

Redemption Institute courses will cover topics in biblical theology, systematic theology, and spiritual formation. These courses will each have a lead instructor and an occasional guest instructor. These courses will range in length (4-8 weeks), and will consist of: lectures, group dialogue, and homework.

Theology on the Ground

Theology on the Ground will be monthly events during the fall and spring semesters, where we engage one another in hot cultural topics and seek to understand how crucial our theology is to engage these pressing issues.

In these monthly events, there will be lively discussions led by a moderator and panel as we engage one another (open forum/audience participation) on these tough cultural topics. We believe that theology matters and actually equips us to speak to issues of race, abortion, politics, the sexual revolution, gender, etc.

If the Church does not understand how to engage culture, we've lost an area of witness and are not living to our full potential as God's colony of heaven amidst this country of death. Theology on the Ground will help equip God's people with a Christian Worldview as we engage this culture devoid of God.

Join us for our next TOTG with Guest Alex Harris on February 25th, Politics (Part 2)

The Chopping Block

Join us for an exciting journey with the Redemption Institute's inaugural 'Chopping Block' event. Embark on an intellectual adventure as we delve into one theological masterpiece each semester. Stay connected through ongoing text discussions, and culminate the experience by gathering in person at the end of the term for lively discussions and camaraderie, all over some delicious pizza!

As we dive into an election year, what better topic could "The Chopping Block" cover than one of politics. We will dive into Political Gospel by Patrick Schreiner and be challenged by this topic and one another as we chop it up to the glory of God.

RSVP by Feb 26th as we will be reading through this book weekly with online discussions and the culmination being an in-person gathering on April 26th, where we will eat a nice meal and "chop it up."

Women's Ministry Studies and Events

Redemption Parker Women’s Ministry exists so that women in Parker might know God to bring Him glory and increase their joy. We pursue this vision through both large group gatherings for fellowship and inviting new friends, as well as through in-depth Bible studies and CORE discipleship groups.
